On a cloudy day in the spring of 2013 I hiked into Tent Rocks. Volcanic eruptions 6-7 million years ago left pumice, ash and tuff deposits over 1000 ft thick. Over time water, ice and wind have carved out the
narrow slot canyon and wonderful tent-like or tepee shapes.
